Design Highlights from Paris Interior Exhibitions 2026

We begin the new year with fresh, beautiful tendencies. Paris has once again hosted two flagship interior design fairs — Déco Off and Maison&Objet.
Leading interior publications and we in Dubadu take a closer look at the design ideas that will surround us this year.

The Return of Pink to interiors

According to The Times, the main color story of the year is clear: pink is back. Its peak popularity came in the mid-to-late 2010s, after which it was heavily displaced by beige — a shade that conquered everything from floors to cushions.

Today, the world is once again embracing pink: in carpet patterns, table lamps, bed linens, and wall tones. Notably, the focus is not on acidic pinks, but on a refined “icy rose” — pale, delicate pink hues with a subtle, aristocratic undertone.

Floral prints back in the spotlight

The return of florals to interiors can only be welcomed. Such patterns undeniably bring brightness and joy into everyday life — something we are all in genuine need of right now. After a prolonged dominance of geometry, balance has finally been restored.

Flowers now appear on wallpapers, upholstery, lampshades, and table textiles (tablecloths and napkins alike). From large-scale blooms to fine, intricate patterns — ranging from realistic wildflowers to imaginative, complex interpretations.

Sophisticated Headboards

This trend arrived hand in hand with the new season of Bridgerton. We all long to add a touch of refinement to our lives, and few details achieve this as effortlessly as a beautifully designed headboard.

Exhibition halls and installations showcased headboards in a wide variety of shapes and sizes — arched, curved, softly contoured — serving as canvases for some of the most exquisite prints from the latest collections. Noble stripes, floral motifs, and calm, soft monochromes were all on display.

Corduroy
Corduroy is a return to a classic we may have quietly missed. It is practical and hard-wearing — ideal for homes with children and dogs. We’re seeing it in sofa upholstery, in those same headboards, in decorative cushions, and even in table lamps.

And table lamps, in fact, deserve a paragraph of their own. They are that one accessory designers reinterpret endlessly — from Rococo porcelain to ultra-modern minimalist forms. A new lamp always brings a fresh current into an interior, which is precisely why designers love experimenting with it.

Folklore Motifs

Design has once again turned toward folklore. Fabrics and wallpapers, carpets and lampshades featuring narratives inspired by folk tales, mythical creatures, birds, and traditional crafts emerged as an unexpected yet delightful addition to new interior collections.

This trend is particularly easy to adopt without significant expense — through ceramics, textiles, and vibrant books casually placed on tables and sideboards.

Wallpaper Back in the Spotlight

After a long era dominated by neutral wall colors, the exhibitions delivered a true visual shock with their wide array of wallpapers. No longer treated merely as a background, wallpaper has become an independent decorative element. Everything was on display: collections with pronounced textures, deep tactile layers, complex graphic patterns, and lush floral motifs. From decorative wall panels to wallpapers with 3D surface effects, the focus is clearly shifting toward atmosphere and emotional impact.

According to the editorial teams of House Beautiful and Elle Decor, wallpaper is emerging as a new tool for creating distinctive spaces — capable of setting the mood, reinforcing architectural ideas, and unifying interiors while simultaneously playing with scale and light.

Interiors are a vast, boundless cosmos that always promises new discoveries. Each season brings fresh meanings, textures, and moods, reflecting how we — and the world around us — continue to change. It is fascinating to observe which of these ideas will endure, and which will remain as beautiful memories. We look forward to seeing how they will come to life in interiors that are personal, expressive, and full of character.
